Benefits of Membership

Beyond the obvious networking possibilities, AACE provides its members with many tangible benefits on an annual basis. These benefits make membership in AACE a “must have” for all professionals within the educational sectors who are involved in career planning and placement activities as well as those employers involved in hiring recent graduates.

Additional benefits of AACE membership include:

The Membership Directory – Published annually, the directory lists the addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses of all members. It also includes additional general organizational information.

Professional Development – Workshops are scheduled during the winter. These sessions provide professional in-service training experiences. This one-day workshop includes presentations, group discussions, and idea exchanges that promote self-improvement and learning experiences for both college and employer needs.

Winter Workshop - Usually held the Friday before Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in January, this one-day workshop gives members to gather in a central location of the state for training and educational meetings.

Annual Conference – Held each summer, this conference offers a variety of sessions related to professional development in the area of recruiting and training, as well as the opportunity to hear great speakers and conduct business sessions.

In addition, members regularly use relationships built through AACE to develop effective college relations and recruiting programs, to utilize campus facilities for on-campus interviewing, and to participate in Career or Job Fairs and/or classroom presentations.

If you would like to receive more information on membership, please contact Rick Shrout, Membership Chair, by email (shroutj@uah.edu) or by telephone at (256) 824-6612.
